France: Jean-Maurice Raffault
An amazing winemaker family based in Chinon for over fourteen generations. In 1973 Jean-Maurice Raffault (the current winemaker’s father) took over the family estate. He was a true pioneer, a trend setter and a local celebrity. He focused his attention on his vineyards, vinifying and labeling each plot separately. He started off with the 4,5 hectares he had inherited and, buying up some of the finest known sites of Chinon. Since 2009 all their owned vineyards are certified organic.
