Rosso di Montalcino is usually considered the baby brother of Brunello, having a shorter ageing period (by law 1 year in barrel and 1 in bottle before release in the market) with less concentration in the fruit. For Poggio di Sotto is different. Fruit is the same used for Brunello and ageing is way longer any other Rosso di Montalcino (3 years in barrel plus 1 in bottle). A Brunello labelled Rosso.
