Wine Description:
The Hermitage Blanc from Domaine du Colombier is a rare and precious cuvée, produced from a tiny plot of just 0.2 hectares, nestled on the prestigious slopes of Hermitage, in the heart of the Northern Rhône Valley. Made from a subtle blend of Marsanne (85%) and Roussanne (15%).
The winemaking is meticulous: direct pressing, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in demi-muids, followed by 18 months of aging on fine lees. This meticulous work gives the wine structure, roundness, and excellent aging potential of at least fifteen years. Produced in a limited quantity of only 1,000 bottles per year.
Tasting Note:
This wine captivates with its golden hue with green highlights and generous legs. The nose is complex and expressive, mingling ripe fruit, white flowers, vanilla, and dried fruit. On the palate, the attack is ample and rich, supported by a beautiful mineral tension. The long and persistent finish reveals the full richness of the clay-limestone and granite soils.
