Canada: Le Clos Jordanne
Le Clos Jordanne’s unique Franco-Canadian partnership between Boisset, La Famille des Grands Vins, of Nuits-St-Georges, France, and Ontario-based Vincor Canada was announced in February 2000. These two major wine producers from opposite sides of the Atlantic signed a joint venture agreement to develop a major “domaine”, or vineyard, in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula. They shared the same vision and goal: to produce spectacular, world class wines in the Niagara Peninsula.
Under the joint management of Boisset and Vincor, viticulturists were brought from France to join their counterparts in the Niagara Region to combine the expertise of both the Old and New Worlds and find the perfect land to purchase the first vineyards for the project. Since the beginning of this exceptional relationship, Le Clos Jordanne has grown from a fledging group of vineyards to an exclusive and prestigious winery.
